Born and raised in North Carolina, Shauna has always felt called to care for others—especially older adults. She began her professional journey at Winston‑Salem State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Even before becoming a nurse, Shauna was laying the foundation for a career in long‑term care.
While still in nursing school, she joined a large assisted living facility, starting in dietary services and advancing through roles as a CNA, medication technician, shift‑in‑charge (SIC), and ultimately assisted living supervisor. After graduation, Shauna returned to Raleigh and launched her nursing career on a medical‑surgical unit at UNC Health, while continuing to serve PRN at the assisted living community that had shaped her early experience.
One year later, Shauna transitioned back into assisted living full‑time with expanded responsibilities. Initially a one‑to‑one trainer, she was soon promoted to Regional Nurse, supporting multiple communities across North Carolina and Virginia.
Over the years, she has held leadership roles in skilled nursing facilities and regional positions in assisted living, and most recently served as Executive Director of a hospice agency. These varied experiences have given her deep insight into every level of the senior‑care continuum. Yet, Shauna’s passion has always remained in long‑term care—building personal connections with residents and their families.
After dedicating her expertise to large healthcare organizations, Shauna set out to fulfill her dream of providing compassionate, high‑quality care on a more intimate scale. That vision became Orchid Gardens: a residential and home‑care provider committed to exceptional service at reasonable rates, because she believes everyone deserves excellent care.
Shauna attributes her successful healthcare journey to the unwavering support, first and foremost, her husband, her wonderful children, their parents, and the incrediblly loving circle of family and friends.
At Orchid Gardens, she and her team offer a comprehensive suite of services to meet families wherever they are in their care journey:
Her mission is simple: to guide, serve, and care with compassion—helping seniors and their families navigate the challenges of aging with confidence, dignity, and grace.

Nurse Navigator
House Supervisor
For over six decades, Alice “Faye” Williams has embodied what it means to care with compassion, dignity, and devotion. Her journey as a caregiver began as early as age 11, when she spent evenings with elderly neighbors in need — long before she understood that this quiet calling would become her life’s work.
After graduating high school in 1968 and moving to Philadelphia, Faye continued to provide care for seniors in her community, including Mable Jeffery and later, Leah Chavis. Her nurturing spirit became a way of life — not only for herself, but for her daughters, whom she introduced to caregiving at a young age. Today, both daughters have pursued careers in nursing, continuing the legacy Faye began.
Her devotion spans years of service to individuals like Mrs. McDuffie, whom she cared for over five years, and Cleafus McCoy, whom she lovingly supported for 11 years as both caregiver and chosen family. Whether she was cooking meals, managing appointments, or simply offering presence and peace, Faye’s care was rooted in love.
She was also a devoted daughter, caring for her own mother through every stage of her life. From grocery shopping for Aaron Warren to supporting Mr. McCutcheon (the father of her son-in-law) until his passing, Faye’s impact has been steady, strong, and deeply personal.
Faye is not only the backbone of her family, but the soul of this mission. Her example of unconditional care is woven into every part of this business, serving as a guiding light for those who now carry her legacy forward. She is as dependable as she is compassionate — a true matriarch whose hands have held generations.
